My Plan is this, Micro feathers cut down so there are two or three feathers with a split shot just above each. This is a perfect imitation of a small shoal of fry or tiny sand-eels darting about near the surface. One Mackeral of LRF puts up a real scrap. Two or three is going to be an epic battle, if slightly stupid!
I may be totally wrong here (as I’m certainly no expert!) but I think balanced tackle is key with this experiment. My line will brake before my rod and my drag will scream before my line snaps. So hopefully there should be no major issues.
The only reason I would use Micro feathers or fly fishing flies is because of their cheap price and the fact that they are so small in comparison to even the smallest of LRF lures.
