Hi, I'm Reuben Manicom Smith (15) and I'm just one of a small, but growing band of anglers getting our kicks from catching multiple fish species, on ultra-light tackle. I'm a lure fisherman exclusively, focusing around 'LRF' (Light Rock Fishing) but occasionally dipping my toes into the world of 'HRF' (Hard Rock Fishing) also. These fishing styles provide a constant flow of action and I love how every fish gives a good account of itself - regardless of size. The main attraction to LRF for me however, is simply the massive variety of fish species you can tempt with ultra-light, balanced gear and lures. I'm sure that pretty much every fish out there would nip at a soft plastic if it was presented in the right way, at the right time, and that’s what this sites all about really... A challenge to catch as many different species of fish as possible, on lures - especially the ones only normally associated with bait fishing styles. I do all this with my fishing partner Will James (he's all over the place on the site!), then write up posts on our sessions, with the occasional review thrown in too. This isn't the blog of a 'pro', but of someone near the other end of that scale sharing in my blogs what I've learnt and any other fishy nonsense in my head at the time! To get a better idea of what my site is about, have a look around, and don't forget to visit the 'Species Count' page to see how we're getting on with our challenge...
